Tech Sergeant Jenn

I ooze dork all over everything.

ghost-of-gold:

Vietnamese sword
very fine Guom
Stunning inlay

A very fine and expertly decorated Vietnamese Guom.
Free from loss or damages.

This extremely nice example measures just over 92cms in the scabbard, 83cms out with a blade length just under 65cms.
This sabre is both single or two handed, is solid and free from any movement in the guard as is common on these swords.
The exotic mother of pearl inlay on the rosewood scabbard is some of the finest I have seen. The silver work is undamaged and in bright polish.
The dark fullered blade is untouched except for a light coating of oil.
The guard is silver over copper with a decorative silver grip collar and a deeply repousse pommel in the form of a lion’s head.
The grip is solid ivory with a lightly carved spine.

An exceptional Vietnamese sword in outstanding condition.
